Education

Education in South Sudan follows a model similar to the educational system of the Republic of Sudan.

1. Primary Education: Eight years (8).

2. Secondary Education: Four years (4).

3. University Instruction: Four years (4).

The Ministry of General Education and Instruction in South Sudan, plays a crucial role. They offer Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for in-service teachers. This program aims to enhance teaching capacity by providing training and qualifications to untrained volunteer teachers. The goal is to empower them to effectively deliver South Sudan’s new competency-based curriculum and adopt a student-centered approach in the classroom.

This collaborative effort strives to create a solid foundation for education in South Sudan, ensuring that both teachers and students are equipped for success.
