Visa Requirements

Your physical passport which must be valid for at least 180 days from date of arrival in South Sudan

Application Form must be completed and signed by the applicant. Please note that Applications printed on both sides of the paper will not be accepted, and visa will not be processed until it is replaced

Two (2) passport-sized photo (2 inches by 2 inches)

An Official LETTER FROM YOUR ORGANIZATION/COMPANY and or Invitation letter addressed to the Embassy of South Sudan from your organization/ Company in South Sudan, explaining the purpose of your travel;

Money order payable to “The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan.” Please consult the below Visa schedule fee for the exact amount for your application

A self-addressed return envelope (UPS, USPS, FedEx) with sufficient prepaid postage for those using mail services.

VISA Fee Categories

South Sudanese Nationals: Nationals holding valid South Sudanese Passports or Origin Card do not need to acquire a visa to travel to South Sudan.

U.S Passport & Travel Document holders: Nationals who are traveling to South Sudan with American Passports, must fulfill all visa requirements and will be CHARGED a visa fee of USD $160.00.

Bordering African countries: Nationals traveling to South Sudan with African Passports must fulfill all visa requirements and will be CHARGED a visa fee of USD $50.00.

Rest of African countries: Nationals traveling to South Sudan with African Passports must fulfill all visa requirements and will be CHARGED a visa fee of USD $100.00.

East African Community and Egyptian: Nationals traveling to South Sudan with East African community or Egyptian Passports must fulfill all visa requirements and will be CHARGED a visa fee of USD 00.00. (Free)

Asian & Gulf countries: Nationals traveling to South Sudan with Asian or Gulf countries Passports must fulfill all visa requirements and will be CHARGED a visa fee of USD $100.00.

Canadian & European Passports, Travel Document holders: Traveling to South Sudan with Canadian or European Passports must fulfill all visa requirements and will be CHARGED a visa fee of USD $100.00.

All other passports not included in these categories will be charged visa fees based on the principle of reciprocity (meaning that the South Sudanese Embassy would impose the same amount that country is charging South Sudanese nationals).

Government officials and Diplomats traveling to South Sudan on Diplomatic, Official, and Service passports must submit an official Note Verbale from the U.S. State Department or their Embassies or as appropriate. All Diplomatic Visas are issued free of charge (Gratis).

Processing Procedures

Any request for extension of stay in South Sudan must be addressed to, and handled with South Sudan Ministry of Interior, Directorate of Nationality, Passports, and Immigration before the expiration of your VISA;

If all requirements are fulfilled, the visa would be issued within five business days;

The Embassy is only authorized to grant single-entry visas for regular passports at this time. Multiple entry visas are only granted to diplomatic and official Passports;

Visa applicants without all the requirements will not be processed.
